[OOC: weird question: should I take from the slightly unusual phrasing that she's speaking non-native English, or, is she speaking Japanese (would auto-translate without any accent to Teddy) and her word choice is just reflecting formality/poetics?]
Teddy blinks at that, nodding in gratitude, and tips her head slightly in consideration with a thoughtful, more real smile. What an interesting thing to think of. She always forgets the part about the qualities that Sleeping Beauty is blessed with before she's cursed. "I suppose that's true. I've definitely had enough of waking up unexpectedly in strange beds with...strange company," she adds in a quieter, more private tone, lifting an eyebrow, "that's for sure."
There's no way any of the townies she's met would have given her an answer like that one. She's got to be one of them.
"You're not ...obstructing me," Teddy adds, frowning slightly at her presumption and the intensity of the word choice. She's already making sure she's as out of the way as she can be if the young woman does in fact need to move -- not that there's an awful lot of room to manuever the chair with the room so crowded -- but turning in so they can talk without broadcasting to the entire room. "I wasn't going anywhere special. You're the first person who's said something interesting in hours."
Teddy pushes a stray lock of hair back. She's usually pretty confident, but she's also usually not wearing a peach cocktail dress or in a room full of people who look like they're about to start talking kids or their plans for Christmas roast. "I'm Theo. Or Teddy," she introduces herself. She usually waits to see how she feels about someone to get to Teddy, but right now anyone who doesn't have knives feels like a friend.
