[Sokka doesn't react immediately. Instead, his eyes move up and down, like he's sizing up his target and determining how easy it would be to take him down. Sokka isn't a mindless fighter. He's pragmatic, and he knows that talking is a better and safer way to get information, if all parties are truly willing. If someone wants to bring terms to the table, he's willing to listen. He just also happens to be a realist — and realistically, falling asleep in one place and waking up captive in another means someone has it out for him. This guy might be that someone. Or not! But there's still no reason to trust him.
Still, the guy is keeping his distance, and Sokka is confident enough that he'd be able to knock him in the head with his boomerang at least one good time before he manages to encroach on him. It takes him a moment, but he slowly lowers his weapon.
He doesn't put it down, though. Just keeps in his hand, hanging at his side.]
