[Sokka doesn't find the concept of grocery stores to be very reassuring. Under normal circumstances, being spoiled for choice would be nice, as he does enjoy shopping, but in this place, it seems as creepy as anything else. So many of the same groceries, and so far removed from the acts of hunting, fishing, and farming — there could be anything in these dishes, and in the meals he has at home. Plus, Sokka isn't supposed to do the cooking in his household, and most of what his assigned mother makes is questionable.

Then again, Sokka tends to be overly suspicious. If his friends were here, they might also tell him they wouldn't go as far as condemning the groceries...]

You're right. [Sokka has a little bit of experience with people like Marjorie, who want to pretend that everything is fine, even when it very obviously isn't. Marjorie has more charisma than Joo Dee, but that just makes her more dangerous, in his opinion.] I tried to listen in on some of her conversations but all she talks about is the party and the HOA. She hasn't said anything that matters. Yet. [Surely she has to, eventually. It's just a matter of catching her when she does.]
