M-I-C-H-I-G-A-N? Wrench queues again, and some of the tension goes out of the space around his eyes. His lips are still fashioned into a hard line, but not only does the admission place the woman in a certain place, it's not an unfamiliar one. In fact, it's a heck of a lot closer to the landscape that Wrench considers home than what anyone else has been able to share with him. He shakes his head a fraction.

I can't explain much because I don't know either. Is this a test? Maybe. But I'm not the one testing you. There are several of us who were brought here like you. We don't know why either, but we're trying to figure it out.

That's a lot, Wrench thinks, to hit someone with when she's clearly just woken up in this place. He pauses for a moment, but it's not long until something selfish and curious sneaks in and he can't help but ask one more thing.

You sign? Well, clearly she signs. But the unspoken question is why.
