The lecture signup sheets are posted inside of the community college, but they're very much open to the public! Dr. Ravichandran is still in the process of 'moving in' to the office the dean has set him up with, but in a few weeks Sans will find that he usually keeps the door to his office bowed when he's in it - a fairly universal sign for 'knock first, but I'm available'.
A photograph of himself standing with the two women from the home video and two other young women, both of them seeming a little bit younger than the new mother, is framed on his desk, and a stylized art print, a map of the spiderwebs of city blocks that make up the sector of Delhi named New Delhi, is framed on one wall—if Sans knows anything about the IIS and where it is located, and has a general idea of where Delhi is, he might realize that the artistically rendered collection of city blocks occupies the opposite pole of the Indian subcontinent as the Indian Institute of Science where he is permanently tenured. Perhaps a map of home brought from his office in Bengaluru?
Setting up a friendly rapport with Vikram is quite easy - he will be very pleased to have a student who is enthusiastic about the content, and happy to dive into it after the lectures! In these conversations Sans will have the opportunity to observe more about his personality: he's a very patient man, kind, eccentric but not really unapproachable so much as having specific, unconventional interests. There's something closed off about him, though, even if he lacks the sinister air of Marjorie or Norman: Vikram, too, seems to be withholding some piece of information, and when he's asked about the history of the town or anything relating to Sweetwater, his answer is always some iteration of the same bottom line: he just moved here and he's still learning his way around, so he's not the best person to ask, but the Homeowner's Association and the local history section of the library can tell a character more.
