Disturbing is definitely a word for it. Moreso a word for people who choose to recall those events in enough detail that it slips into dwelling on it, though. Papyrus is doing his best not to do that, dipping only enough to give fair warning to a new arrival - and then put the rest of his brain to manners and terrible puns. It's a shame they didn't draw a pity laugh, but it's also maybe a relief not to live with Sans 2.0.
That sort of inane thought, too, is a helpful bulwark against the details of those hazy, painful, unwanted memories.
